Tasting Note
Deep and expressive, showing intense dark and black fruits — think black cherry, plum, and blueberry — layered with violets, Asian spice, and a whisper of pepper. The co-fermented Viognier brings a floral lift and aromatic complexity. On the palate, it’s rich and silky, with saturated fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a seamless, polished texture. The finish is long, fragrant, and persistent, with a mineral edge and subtle spice.
Technical / Production Notes:
Made from Shiraz (estate, from 2003 vines) co-fermented with ~5% Viognier from 2001 plantings.
Fermentation: 5% whole bunches; matured 11 months in 500 L French oak (about 25% new).
Drinking window: 2030–2045
Overall:
A highly perfumed, layered Shiraz with an elegant floral lift from Viognier — both powerful and refined, built to age gracefully but very tempting now.
