2019 Rockford VP Shiraz 500ml

Tasting Notes:

2019 Rockford Shiraz VP is a fortified Shiraz (vintage port style) from Barossa, made from late‑season Shiraz fruit. It has an aroma of black cherry and anise. There’s also a warm wood‑aged brandy character, adding aromatic oak complexity. On the palate is dense, sweet, and powerful: layered dark fruit (blackberry, dark cherry), licorice, and tar-like richness. The fortified spirit contributes to a luscious texture with structure and tension.

The finish is long, warm, and persistent, with lingering dried fruit, spice, and notes of toffee and molasses. 

This wine is clearly built for cellaring: the combination of fortified spirit, oak, and concentrated fruit suggests it can develop further complexity over time, or be enjoyed now as a rich dessert-style red.
